Because of the poor public transportation in most of the cities and towns, car ownership represents one of the most important pieces in the employment puzzle. While most of the residential spaces are out of the town, workers of all kinds and types will need to have a car in order to get in time to their offices, which are mostly located in the center of the "urban jungle".

So, not owning a car can represent an inconvenient factor for an individual or for a family. A normal family in the United States will need to have at least one car, if not two (two is the standard and required number of cars for an average family). People are often opting to donate their used cars to these governmental institutions, rather then selling them for marginal profits as it is used to do. All these car donations are helping the charity programs to raise money and also provide reliable transportation facilities to the low income families and individuals. This is not a business, but more like a helping-hand given by the United States government and accredited institutions to the persons who are in a desperate need for a car. A person cannot buy a donated car unless he or she meets the specific requirements pertaining to the fiscal situation.

Each and every of these programs can be suitable and helpful for a segment of the population, all of them having the capability of providing the low-income families to purchase their dreamed cars for the exact purpose of retaining employment.
